Hamburg. The home of Montblanc, Nivea, Holsten Lager…and this year’s much awaited Bio-Europe conference!
On a fresh and wintery 2 degree Celsius Monday morning, 4,354 delegates from 60 countries came together for Europe's largest life science partnering conference. The Venari Partners team met with the industry’s key biotech and pharma leaders to discuss the latest trends in the industry, which included: therapeutic developments in Cardiology; evolving priorities in women’s health; the China market; successful market development and access; and gene therapy valuation and deal trends.
We also witnessed day two’s main event - the Dragon’s Den-esque Startup Slam. This is where ten shortlisted start-ups pitch their business to an expert judging panel. Eisbach Bio, a company developing novel medicines that target chromatin regulatory mechanisms essential to tumours, were this year’s winners and deservingly so. Congratulations to Adrian Schomburg (CEO), Andreas Ladurner (CSO) and the rest of the team!
In regards to our interim solutions practice, we had some very interesting fireside chats with Founders, CEOs and Investors who were keen to discuss how our interim network can support and guide them through times of rapid growth, IPOs, M&A or even specific development projects. It was also a great opportunity to catch up with our existing clients and candidates over a coffee, beer or a schnitzel!
