Building the Commercial Leadership Team of a Clinical-Stage Biotech Case Study
Venari Partners was retained by the newly-appointed Chief Commercial Officer of a clinical-stage biotech company to build out the Commercial leadership team in readiness for launch. This was a unique assignment as the company was acquiring two commercial-stage products from a large pharmaceutical company, despite not having any prior internal commercial infrastructure.
As such, the company was a relatively unknown entity to the market so the assignment was a brand building exercise as much as an executive search.
Within 6 months, Venari Partners had successfully completed processes to appoint a GM DACH, GM US, VP Commercial Operations, VP Global Marketing, Global Marketing Director and Global Medical Affairs Director. On average, each hiring process took around 8 weeks from start to finish, and 3 out of the 6 candidates hired were available either immediately or at very short notice, which was a huge benefit to the business. The first product was successfully launched on time and the initial financial results during the first 6 months post-launch were positive. Venari Partners remains a close partner to the company.
