Venari Partners partnered with a large European low-cost carrier (LCC) to identify an experienced legal candidate for the role of Legal Director and Company Secretary. Specifically, our client hoped to hire a candidate who not only possessed extensive corporate legal experience derived from Europe but also the relevant deep aviation subject matter expertise.
The successful hire forms part of the executive leadership team and takes responsibility for managing all corporate legal matters, in addition to providing advice to the business units on commercial and regulatory issues, as well as all litigation and risk management. Whilst LCC experience was a not a prerequisite, it was important that the candidate could adapt to the unique culture of this low-cost carrier.
The main challenge we had when sourcing for this role was the lack of LCC Legal talent coupled with the need for the chosen candidate to relocate.
