IWG instructed Venari Partners to identify a credible shortlist of experienced strategy professionals for a Commercial Director role.


We were specifically looking for a candidate with deep experience in Product/Commercial and Category Management accompanied with a Consultancy base.


The main challenge for this mandate was to find a profile that had a structured and analytical mindset but also had an entrepreneurial edge. Typically, with this brand the successful candidate needs to possess a ‘hunter’ mentality. The purpose of the role would be to drive product design, pricing, sales, marketing and operating model as well as customer service plans that will deliver significant growth in sales and profits.


In addition to the above skills, the candidate had to be prepared to challenge a very dominant CEO figure.
